Hot Toddy

Add one teaspoon of Lions Mane CBD Honey to your mug. Choose your favorite high proof whiskey, (we prefer 1.5oz Old Forester 100 proof). Try a decaffeinated tea of either; lemon ginger or sweet and spicy orange cinnamon which works best for a relaxing evening cocktail. Serves 1

Old Fashioned

Place one teaspoon of Lions Mane CBD Honey in a mixing glass with a splash of warm water, 4 dashes of Aromatic Bitters, and .5oz of Carpano Antica Vermouth. For a Sicilian twist, replace the Carpano Antica with a .5oz of Amaro. Stir until the honey dissolves. Add ice and pour your favorite bourbon, (we prefer 2oz Woodford Reserve).  Finish with a slice of orange and bourbon-soaked bing cherry. Serves 1

Holiday Cider

Start by combining 4 cups of apple cider and 2oz. of orange juice. Warm over low heat. Add in 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cloves, and 1-star anise. Stir in 4 teaspoons of Lions Mane CBD Honey and 8oz of Rye whiskey, (our personal favorite is Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye). Let simmer until ready to serve. Garnish with cinnamon sugar-coated apple slices. Serves 4.

Tips to Reduce Seasonal Stress Around the Holidays

The hustle and bustle of the holidays can be quite stressful, especially amidst a global pandemic. Between mandated lockdowns, self-isolation, and the fear of getting sick; your holidays may not be the same this year. It’s important to find ways to decompress and limit stressful situations that usually tend to creep up around this time of year. Here are some tips to reduce stress and anxiety around the holiday season.

Prioritize Breaks

Whether you’re shopping for presents, looking up recipes for upcoming dinners, or balancing a busy work and home life; it’s essential that you factor in time for breaks. Taking a short break or pausing to take some deep breaths can make a huge difference when it comes to stress or anxiety. It’s also important to learn to say no. Don’t overfill your to-do list with too many things and get overwhelmed. Try to remember to step away from the tasks at hand, or put on some soothing music to decompress when you feel the need.

Get Good Sleep

You might be wrapping presents, decorating the Christmas tree, or putting out cookies for Santa; but make sure to maintain a regular sleep schedule and get the recommended 8- 10 hours a night. If you deprive yourself of sleep, you won’t have the energy or motivation to get everything done for the holidays. Sleep plays a vital role in your overall well-being, and if you do not get enough; it can lead to mental health issues, weakened immune systems, bad moods, and poor memory.

Talk to a Loved One

If you feel like your schedule, responsibilities, or current lifestyle situations are wearing down on your productivity and ability to function, try talking to a loved one. Your family and friends should be able to resonate with you, helping you find ways to improve your situation and mental state. Pick up the phone, initiate a video chat, or have a heart-to-heart conversation with the ones who care deeply about you!

Health Benefits Associated with CBD Honey

Honey is one of the most-liked sweeteners around the world. However, it offers so much more than its sweet and sometimes floral notes. High-quality honey is recognized for its rich antioxidant properties and is also linked to various health benefits such as; improving cholesterol, cardiovascular health, and reducing inflammation. On the other hand; CBD is widely used for anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and more. When you combine these two ingredients, you reap the benefits of a natural sweetener infused with hemp extract. Let’s look at a few reasons why you should add CBD infused honey into your routine.

An Easier Way to Consume CBD

Rather than just using CBD oil tinctures, topicals, or ingestible soft gels; CBD honey offers an easier more palpable route of consumption. You can simply add it to your morning coffee or tea, spread it on toast, add it to smoothies, salad dressings, and so much more! If you want to feel more relaxed, take on your day with less anxiety, and alleviate some chronic pain; CBD honey is a great way to get the job done.

Antimicrobial / Antifungal properties

Studies show that honey contains several antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Due to its ability to maintain a moist wound condition, and its high viscosity; honey provides healing properties that help to prevent infection. If you deal with infectious diseases or compromised immunity; a spoonful of honey regularly is essential because the antimicrobial agents will reduce the burdens associated with illness.  According to research, honey is also used to accelerate wound healing, stomach ulcers, and other skin infections.

Anxiety / Mood Changes

If you’re looking for a healthy alternative to pharmaceuticals, CBD honey is a safe choice. There is not enough scientific evidence to support the claim that CBD is an effective treatment for depression or anxiety. However, anecdotal testimonies as well as recent studies have shown that CBD has a tremendous impact on depression and anxiety for those who use it.

According to a 2015 study, CBD interacts with cannabinoid receptors, serotonin receptors, and other receptors in the brain that regulate fear and anxiety-induced behaviors. The study also claims that CBD can be an effective treatment for numerous types of anxiety disorders such as; generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Current research suggests that CBD has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It works by blocking certain enzymes that trigger inflammation in the body. According to research, cannabinoids suppress inflammatory response and subsequently attenuate disease symptoms.

Cannabinoids have been tested in several experimental models of autoimmune disorders such as; multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, colitis, and hepatitis. Cannabinoids have been shown to protect the host from the pathogenesis through induction of multiple anti-inflammatory pathways.

All in all, adding products like Lions Mane Infusion 600mg Full Spectrum CBD Honey to your life can bring wellness to a whole new level. If you’re looking to add a beneficial supplement to your routine and enhance your healthy lifestyle — try our CBD Honey today!

Tips to Keep Your Lips Smooth and Radiant This Holiday Season

Your lips are a sensitive part of your body that has a habit of getting dry, flakey, and chapped even when the rest of your face is smooth and radiant. The skin on your lips is very thin and requires constant attention in order to keep them soft and kissable. If you suffer from dry, cracked lips, and your waxy, run-of-the-mill lip balm just isn’t cutting it, here are a few tips from Lion’s Mane Infusions.

Keep Yourself Well-Hydrated

When your body is dehydrated, one of the first places it can show is on your skin – including your lips. Drinking enough water every day will help your body to detoxify itself and keep your skin smooth, tight, and soft. When you fail to hydrate properly, you may notice that your lips are frequently dry, chapped, or flaky.

It’s widely believed that drinking 8 glasses of water per day is enough to keep yourself hydrated. If you’re having trouble doing so, try creating an alarm on your phone to remind you to drink, and carry a water bottle with you when you’re out and about.

Use Sunscreen

Sunlight is the number 1 driver of premature aging in your skin. Prolonged exposure to harmful UV rays can penetrate your skin and cause the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles long before your genetics would cause them to show.

To help protect your lips from the sun, you can use sunscreen that is specially formulated to be gentle on your lips while protecting them from the sun’s harmful rays.

Don’t Over-Exfoliate

Exfoliation is key to removing dead cells from the surface of your skin, allowing the layers underneath to shine. Your lips need to be exfoliated too, but be careful not to do it too much. Remember, your lips are sensitive, and repeated exposure to exfoliating products can actually cause your lips to become inflamed.

Use a Quality Lip Balm

The waxy lip balms you find in grocery store checkout lines can sometimes offer a quick fix for dry, chapped lips, but that’s about it. To protect, hydrate, and soothe your lips, you need a quality lip balm, like the Holiday Healing CBD Lip Balm from Lion’s Mane Infusions. Our products are locally made with all-natural essential oils, and full-spectrum CBD.

Don’t waste your time and money on cheap lip care products. If you want soft, smooth, kissable lips, try our Holiday Healing CBD Lip Balm and let your lips receive the pampering they deserve.

HOW CBD AFFECTS ANXIETY AND OTHER RELATED DISORDERS

Chronic anxiety is an extremely widespread condition, particularly during times of uncertainty. Cannabidiol (CBD), is a chemical found naturally in cannabis plants that has been touted as an excellent remedy for anxiety, and early research backs that claim. CBD is not like its sister cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which causes intoxication, or the feeling of being “high.” Instead, it works in the background without producing any of the mind-altering effects typically associated with THC.

Findings on General Anxiety Disorder

People suffering from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) will be happy to know that studies on rats have shown CBD is able to reduce stress. The subjects in the study were first observed before and after treatment with CBD. After treatment, the subjects showed not only fewer behavioral signs of anxiety, but an improvement in their heart rate as well.

Additional Types of Anxiety

Generalized anxiety disorder is only one of a number of anxiety disorders from which people can suffer. Other disorders include social anxiety disorder (SAD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In 2011, a study was conducted to research the effects of CBD on people suffering from social anxiety disorder. During the study, participants were given either 400mg of CBD or a placebo. Subjects who received CBD reported an overall reduction of anxiety symptoms.
